Biographical Data
Civil Engineer, Anahuac University, 1973. Master of Business Administration, Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration, 1975.
He has contributed to the benefit of Mexican society by participating in the management of hospital infrastructure works, services to indigenous populations in Chiapas, as well as different capacities and airport infrastructure in the country. It has also contributed to campaigns to assist the population during natural disasters. In the case of the electricity sector, it has contributed to the development and growth of Mexico's electrical infrastructure. During his tenure as Director of CFE, 32 thermoelectric power plants have been built to date and 9 more are under construction, as well as 3 hydroelectric projects.
He is currently Director General of the Federal Electricity Commission (CFE). He was Deputy Director General of the National Fund for Social Activities (FONAPAS), 1977 to 1980 and Director General, from 1981 to 1983. Executive Coordinator of the Secretariat of Urban Development and Public Works of the Government of the State of Mexico, 1983 to 1985. Coordinator of Advisors to the Secretary of Energy, Mines and Parastatal Industry, 1986 to 1988. Undersecretary of Mines and Basic Industry of SEMIP, 1988 to 1993. Undersecretary of Energy of the SEMIP, 1993 to 1995. General Director of Airports and Auxiliary Services (ASA), 1996 to 1999.
Member of the Board of the Harvard University Business School (1998 to 2001); President of the Mexico Foundation at Harvard (2002 to date).
Honorable mention from Anahuac University for professional examination and Bachelor's degree in Engineering thesis, 1973; Graduation with high distinction from the Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration for the Master of Business Administration, 1975.
