Biographical Data

He developed his professional activity in the Techint Organization and in the Business Chambers from 1963 to 2004. He joined Techint S.A. (currently 25,000 employees; 2,500 projects executed) as a young engineer, becoming General Manager, Executive Vice President and President. Under his responsibility, and among many others, the management of works such as the Chocón Hydroelectric Power Plant; the Zárate-Brazo Largo Bridges; the SOMISA Headquarters building; the International Tunnel of Christ the Redeemer; the Alto Paraná Paper Plant; Atucha II Nuclear Power Plant; routes; railways; ports; subways; distilleries; oil pipelines; etc., both in Argentina and abroad.

Since 1991, he has added to his activity the creation and management of new companies in the service area, such as Telefónica de Argentina; Ferroexpreso Pampeano; Edelap; TGN. In 1994, business began at the level of National Business Chambers. Since July 2004, since he retired from executive activity, and until now, he has increased his institutional activity acting in the National Academy of Engineering, the Permanent Forum of Engineering and other related institutions.

He was Regular Adjunct Professor, Metal and Wood Constructions, Faculty of Engineering, UBA, and Postgraduate Professor, Universidad Católica Argentina. He has published several works related to metal structures and bridges. International speaker on subjects related to his specialties.

He has been President of the Argentine Chamber of Construction, proposing to national authorities the concept of investing in infrastructure in a planned manner, to allow for sustainable and organic development of the country. Member of the National Academy of Engineering and the Argentine Council for International Relations (CARI). Security Award for Entrepreneur of the Year 2000, in the Construction sector; “Magnus” Award 2005. Recognition of Argentine Society to Referents of Change”, granted by “Argentina-XXI Century”; Member of the CAI Honor Committee — Engineering Week.
