Biographical Data

Working for 40 years in the Aeronautical Industry, he has served in various operational, tactical and strategic positions in the maintenance organizations of the companies Mexicana de Aviación, AeroMexico and Interjet. Until October 2019, he served in the position of CEO of Mexicana MRO Services with 1700 employees in his charge.

He has received specialized aeronautical courses in the United States, Brazil, England, France, Costa Rica, Malaysia, Peru, Chile and Mexico,

Jesús Navarro is an Aeronautical Engineer and has two postgraduate degrees: one in MSc from the University of Warwick in the United Kingdom and an MBA from La Salle University in Mexico. Aeronautical Expert in Aircraft Maintenance and Modification for 19 years, he has participated, among other activities, with the General Directorate of Civil Aeronautics of Mexico in the Investigation of Air Accidents and is an advisor to the Research and Technological Development Group of the Mexican Air Force. He has twice served as Vice President of the Aeronautical Equipment Purchasing Committee for Latin America (CCMA) and has been an active member since 1995 of the College of Mexican Aeronautical Engineers, where he currently holds the Presidency and is a member of the Board of Directors of SAE Mexico.

In the field of teaching, he is a professor in the Postgraduate Studies and Research Section of the National Polytechnic Institute; he is the founder of the Diploma in Management and Operation of Aeronautical Workshops and has been participating since 2008 as a professor in the International Diploma in Airport Engineering and Certification organized by Airports and Auxiliary Services and the National Polytechnic Institute in Mexico City. He has been a professor in engineering careers at the Panamerican University on the Guadalajara campus and at the Western Institute of Technology and Higher Education (ITESO).

In 2010, he joined the Academy of Engineering of Mexico, where he holds the degree of Full Academician and where he was part of the Academic Council from 2015 to 2017. In 2016, he also joined the Pan-American Academy of Engineering, where he is a Senior Academician.

In 2002, the government of Peru declared him an “Illustrious Visitor” in the City of Cusco; the College of Mexican Aeronautical Engineers awarded him the medals: “Ing. Ángel Calvo Mijangos” and the “Jean Roger Brelivet Goes” and I included him in the list of the 100 Aeronautical Engineers who have contributed the most to Mexican Aviation throughout its history. The Government of Mexico awarded him the “Emilio Carranza” medal.
