Dean of Engineering at the University of South Florida. He has been Director of the Design, Manufacturing and Industrial Innovation Division of the National Science Foundation NSF. Executive Assistant Director of Engineering at NSF in Arlington, Virginia. Consultant for several private companies and government organizations. He has been especially dedicated to research in the areas of production programming and semiconductor manufacturing systems.
Professor and Director of the Department of Industrial Systems and Manufacturing in Engineering — Leigh University — Bethlehem, PA. Professor at the University of Puerto Rico in Mayaguez. Lockheed Professor at the Florida Institute of Technology (Florida Tech) Melbourne, FL. Professor at the College of Engineering at the University of Florida.

He received the Hispanic Engineering National Achievement Award — Higher Education Category. Albert Holzman Award for Best Educator in Industrial Engineering awarded by the IIE, Institute of Industrial Engineers. Several NSF distinctions.
