Biographical Data
- Dr. Alcocer is a Civil Engineer who graduated from UNAM in 1986. He completed his postgraduate studies at the University of Texas, Austin, obtaining his doctorate in 1991.
- In his professional career, Dr. Alcocer has combined his academic work with professional practice in other fields, both in his country and through international institutions.
- He is a Full Member of the Academy of Engineering and has been President of the Mexican Society for Structural Engineering; Secretary of the Advisory Council on Earthquakes; is a member of several Technical Committees of the American Concrete Institute; Member of the Institute for Earthquake Engineering Research and other technical institutions. It has a considerable volume of international and national publications. He has received the distinction of being Named a Fellow of the ACI.
